Bethesda women's ministry
has the goal to raise to excellence.
The ministry has the cell groups under able leadership in every
outreach. The groups has an apex body whose leadership is
prayerfully appointed to represent regions.
The splinter groups meet weekly and tackle problems that the different
women groups face in their daily lives. Among these are problems
that the single mothers, married women, divorced women and widows are
experiencing. The meetings also tackle challenges that come about with
relations like the mother and daughter in-law, son/father in-law/
sister/brother in-law relationships. The search the biblical
direction and apply where possible.
The delegates meet monthly and the Bungoma church for a prayer retreat
and further compare experiences, search the bible further for an excellent
approach to each issue.
Every second Saturday of the month, regional workshops are organized
bringing about ten churches together with selected facilitators to
exchange views, testimonies and encounters towards being women of
excellence. Notes and handouts are given out to the participants.
Annually, every August, over 1000 women converge for a weeks
conference on selected contentious issues. In this conferences women from
all over Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Burundi come. Women ministers are
invited from within and outside Africa to facilitate. This event
is a powerful, life changing one. There are moving testimonies on
how the women have encountered their Christ during such meeting.
Many lives have changed and resolutions have been made and women have
taken a new turn from the usual church goers to meaning and responsible
disciples.
The challenge the women's ministry face is lack of a 62 seater commuter
vehicle for the monthly and annual events. Though the women donate
food during these functions, most times the donations do not make the
required balanced diet. The deficits have to be purchased all the time.
